Employer Identification Number
The EIN (Employer Identification Number) is a number you received from the Federal Government that identifies the church as a recognized entity.
The EIN is needed for the church’s bank accounts, payroll, etc.
DO NOT set up your Church bank accounts under your own SS#.
Setting up your church checking account under your own Social Security Number will make you liable for income taxes and possibly social security taxes on all monies flowing through the checking account.
